Daughter of Thomas Rose, wife of William Robert Gillette, whom she married on March 1, 1942 in the Bayport Methodist Church, Bayport and again on December 21, 1957 in Brookhaven, New York.

Marriage - The marriage of Miss Alma Rose, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Rose, of Washington, D.C., and William Robert Gillette, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Gillette, took place at 2:30 on Sunday afternoon in the Bayport Methodist Church. The ceremony was performed by the pastor, the Rev. Alson J. Smith. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attended by Miss Olive Gillette, sister of the bridegroom, as maid of honor. Miss Rose wore a street length frock of light blue and a hat and short veil to match. Her corsage was of gardenias. Miss Gillette's costume was of aqua with a (?) straw hat. She also wore gardenias. The best man was Charles (?) of Jamaica. Following the ceremony, a reception for between 50 and 60 of the relatives and friends of the young people was held at the … (illegible).
