Minnie Ethel McCarty, daughter of William and Ellen Andrews was born near Cuba, Kan., July 25, 1887 and died August 17, 1970 at the Republic County hospital at the age of 83 years and 23 days.

She attended the Republic county rural schools. November 24, 1904 she was united in marriage to Orville Lee McCarty. To this union five children were born.

She was the last charter member of the Belleville Friends church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant daughter, her parents, three brothers and four sisters.

Survivors are: three sons, W. Lee of Wheatridge, Colo., Keith of Wichita, Kenneth of Denver; one daughter, Ulene Laurtizen of Belleville; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held Thursday, August 20 at the Friends church with Robert Storm, minister. Interment was at Hawks cemetery at Cuba.
