He was born in Hepzibah, Dec. 4, 1921, a son of the late George and Sarah Greathouse.
Surviving are his wife Maxidena I. Ford Greathouse, whom he married Aug 30, 1942; two sons Roger Greathouse, Charleston, Boyd Greathouse, Salem; one daughter, Charolette Ritter, Buckhannon; five grandchildren, Melissa, Brian and David Greathouse, Kimberly and Michael Riter; two sisters, Irene Underwoodm Salem, Route 2, and Kathleen Wilhelm of Lireville, AL.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Pauline Staats.
Mr. Greathouse was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He was a disabled American Vetern of both World War II and the Korean War.
Interment in K of P Cemetery, Salem.
