Services for Isaac "Newt" Brown will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Hixson Bros. with the Rev. B.G. Dyess and Dwayne Davis officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Pineville.
Brown, 86, of Alexandria died at 2:05 a.m. Tuesday in St. Frances Cabrini Hospital.
He was a native of St. Helena Parish and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. He was a retired construction iron worker.
Survivors include two sons, Donald G. Brown of Sugarland, Texas and Charles N. Brown of New Orleans; one brother, W.D. Brown Jr. of Baton Rouge; one sister, Ruby V. Merchant of Hineston; five grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. today in the funeral home.
