Brown, 86, of Alexandria died at 2:05 a.m. Tuesday in St. Frances Cabrini Hospital.
He was a native of St. Helena Parish and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. He was a retired construction iron worker.
Survivors include two sons, Donald G. Brown of Sugarland, Texas and Charles N. Brown of New Orleans; one brother, W.D. Brown Jr. of Baton Rouge; one sister, Ruby V. Merchant of Hineston; five grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. today in the funeral home.
