Mrs. Martin entered into rest Thursday, Oct. 9, at Schumpert Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was a native of Pollock, La. and a resident of Shreveport for the past eight years. Mrs. Martin had been a member of the Baton Rouge Chapter of Eastern Star.
She is survived by one daughter, Joyce Hammack of Shreveport; two sons, Charles N. Brown of El Paso, Texas, Donald G. Brown of Houston; five sisters, Clariece Otis of Pollock, La., Mary Ellen King of Baton Rouge, Fay Hathorn of Houston, Betty Germany of Glenmora, Carol Kirtland of Pollock; three brothers, W.G. Brown, R.O. Brown, both of Pollock, E.W. Brown of Chalmette; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Martin's nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The family request that all donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
