Helen M. Beck, 95, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, July 17, 2007. She joins George F. Beck, her husband of 63 years, who passed June, 1995, and son, Rodney E. Beck, who passed May 1965. Also preceding her in passing were her sister, Anna E. Fickes; and three brothers, Lloyd, Charles, and Clarence "Pete" Hartman. She was born February 22, 1912, to Kurvin and Amanda Hartman of Manchester, where she lived most of her years. As a loving wife and mother, she dedicated her godly life to her family. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. Her recent residency was at Normandie Ridge in York. She is survived by her brother, Arthur Hartman; son, George E. Beck and his wife, Monique; daughter, Joyce E. Smyser and her husband, Edward; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The viewing will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 S. Main St., Mt. Wolf, followed by a celebration service at 10 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Darby Nace of St. Paul U.M.C. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be donated to St. Paul United Methodist Church; 4360 Board Road, Manchester, PA 17345.
