Arthur was born March 24, 1917 in Manchester and was the son of the late Kurvin and Amanda (Hollingshead) Hartman.
He worked as a Plate Steel Mechanic for Allis Chalmers for over 26 years before retiring in 1979. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Central League Old Timers, 25 Year club at Allis Chalmers, Starview Sportsman Club, Manchester Fire Company, Central League Baseball Hall of Fame, and St. Paul United Methodist Church in Manchester and their Bowling League. Arthur proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII.
Arthur is survived by his daughter, Patricia Brenner of York; his stepdaughter, Linda Armiger of Maryland; his stepson, James Harbold of Dover; three grandchildren; four step grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one step great-granddaughter; and one great-great-granddaughter. Mr. Hartman was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery.
Military honors will be performed by the York County Veterans Honor Guard at the graveside.
