Lola Picklesimer, 84, of Portsmouth, Ohio, died Thursday, May 11, 2000, at Southern Ohio Medical Center, Portsmouth. Mrs. Picklesimer was born January 24, 1916, in Johnson County, to the late Callie and Alta Lemaster Blanton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paris Picklesimer, in 1986. Surviving are one son, Phillip Blanton of Waldo, Ohio; one daughter, Glenna Tackett of Lucasville, Ohio; three brothers, Will Blanton of Swamp Branch, Estill Blanton of Warsaw, Indiana, and Charlie Blanton of Marion, Ohio; two sisters, Evelyn Blair of Leander and Sola Ferguson of Zenia, Ohio; and 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday, May 14, at Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel, with Donald Ray Caudill and Dick VanHoose officiating. Burial was in Bayes Cemetery at Swamp Branch.
