Peter Stephen Larkin was the son of John Patrick Larkin and Catherine A. Cavanaugh Larkin.

According to the 1900 Federal Census, Peter was living with two of his brothers, James and Daniel in Boston, MA.

Peter and his wife, Margaret Lee married in New York City on 16 Oct 1901. By the 1910 Federal Census, Peter and Margaret were living in Harwich, MA with three sons, Peter, Lawrence and Edwin. According to records, Peter and Margaret had four sons. One son was stillborn in 1907 and was not named. Three older sons, Peter, Lawrence, and Edwin were born in the early to mid 1900s.

Peter Larkin was admitted to the Grafton State Hospital in October of 1913. In the WWI Draft registration of 1918, Peter is listed as a patient in the Grafton State Hospital. The 1940 Federal Census also lists him as a patient. Sadly Peter lived the last 41+ years of his life there. His death record indicates 'sudden death' that was presumably caused by coronary sclerosis.

He is buried at the Grafton State Hospital Hillcrest Cemetery. Most of the graves are not marked other than with a number. As of July 2013, Peter Larkin's grave site is marked with a memorial stone with his full name and the year of his birth and death on it.
