Catherine Cavanaugh Larkin was the daughter of Peter and Mary Doyle Cavanaugh.

Catherine (17) and John (23) were married on 1 Aug 1858 at St Mary's Church in Charlestown MA. Each was living in Charlestown when they married. Their marriage was witnessed by John's brother, Patrick, and Patrick's soon-to-be-wife, Catherine "Kate" Cavanaugh. Reverend George A Hamilton officiated.

Catherine and her husband, John Patrick Larkin, had 12 children:
Francis Patrick, Anastasia, Bennet Nicolas, John William, Thomas Edward, James Richard, Peter Stephen, Daniel Joseph, Lawrence, Mark Martin, Alice Winifred, and an adopted daughter, Florence. Sadly three more of their children, Lawrence, Mark Martin, and Alice Winifred died as young children.

Harwich Centre
A resident of this village for the past fifty-five years, died in Harwich, April 27, 1923, at the age of 83 years.

The deceased was born in Ireland, came to Boston at the age of 12 years, and soon after her marriage to John P Larkin moved to Cape Cod and settles in Harwich.

She was the mother of 12 children and seven sons and one daughter survive her.

She was a good neighbor and the old-fashioned type of a fine Christian mother, who endeared herself to all who knew her. For the past six years her health was poor but she was patient and resigned.

Her funeral took place at the Catholic church on Monday, April 30, 11:00a.m. The burial was in the family lot.

Those attending the service from out of town were F.P. Larkin and family of Phila; B.N. Larkin and family of Everett; J.W. Larkin and family of Roxbury; J.R. Larkin and family of Dorchester; D.J. Larkin and family of Dorchester; R.E. Larkin and family, Arlington; James Skeban of Canton; Margaret Conley of Boston; Mary Monahan of Milton; and other friends and relatives.
