Mrs. Emma Hurley, wife of Charles H. Hurley of Shrewsbury, died suddenly of paralysis last Wednesday night. She was eating supper when stricken and she died two hours after the stroke. this was the second stroke Mrs. Hurley had received. She was first stricken about four years ago and had not been in good health since. She had been suffering with a sore throat the past six weeks and had been eating alight diet.

Mrs. Hurley was 52 years old. She was born at Shrewsbury and was the daughter of the late Albert Woolley. She married Mr. Hurley 33 years ago and the couple had always lived at Shrewsbury since their marriage. Besides her husband she leaves nine daughters, two sisters and a brother. The daughters are Mrs. Samuel Clark of Red Bank, Mrs. Howard Gilladeau of Crawford's Corner, Mrs. John S. Hugg, Jr., of Long Branch, Mrs. William H. Bennett of Oakhurst and Misses Lillian, Emma, Esther and Marie Hurley, who live at home. The brother is Joseph E. Woolley of Colt's Neck and the sisters are Mrs. Harry Tabor of Long Branch and Mrs. John Bennett of Elizabeth.

The funeral was held at the house on Saturday afternoon and the body was buried at West Long Branch.
