Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 27, 1998, at Holy Family Convent Chapel. Rev. DePaul Sobotka, OFM will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial to follow at Holy Family Convent Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The former Dorothy Hildebrand was born September 18, 1912, in Zanesville, Ohio, daughter of the late Joseph and Francis Kernan Hildebrand. Sr. Francis Aloysius earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Holy Family College, Manitowoc, and a Master of Arts degree from University of Notre Dame, Indiana. She entered the Convent in 1933 and professed her vows in 1936. Sister Francis Aloysius served as an elementary teacher at St. Boniface, Manitowoc; St. Joseph, Green Bay; St. Anne, Escanaba, Mich.; and as a high school teacher at Catholic Memorial, Waukesha, Roncalli, Manitowoc; St. Mary, Delaware; Gernsey Catholic Central, Cambridge, Ohio; Guardian Angels, West Point, Neb.; St. Ambrose, Ironwood; Holy Name, Escanaba, Mich.; and St. Willibrord, Chicago. After her retirement from the teaching profession in 1988, she served as coordinator of St. Rita Health Center and performed various tasks at the Motherhouse.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; three sisters, four brothers and sisters-in-law, Sister Frances Joseph Hildebrand, OSF, Slinger; Mary Jo Dooley, Zanesville, J. Pauline Jones, Somerset, Ohio; Bernard and Lucy Hildebrand, David and Jean Hildebrand, Joseph Hildebrand, Edward and Verna Hildebrand, and Josephine Hildebrand, Zanesville, Ohio. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 1998, at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. at Holy Family Convent Chapel.
