Edward 'Ed' Francis Hildebrand, 84
ZANESVILLE - Edward "Ed" Francis Hildebrand, 84, of Zanesville, passed away Saturday Dec. 1, 2007, at his residence following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born Jan. 28, 1923, in Zanesville, the son of the late Joseph A. and Francis Kernan Hildebrand. A lifelong Zanesville resident, Ed was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he served in the Bismarck Archipelago in New Guinea, Southern Philippines, Luzon and Panama. He retired from General Electric in 1985 after 37 years of service and is a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
Ed is survived by his wife of 61 years, Verna Maxine Williams Hildebrand; sons, Daniel M. (Cynthia) Hildebrand, Edward Gregory Hildebrand, Timothy C. (Brenda) Hildebrand and Steven J. (Jennifer) Hildebrand; daughters, Sandra K. (Greg) Marrulo, Teresa M. Hildebrand and Mary Ann Hildebrand (Dingus); 11 grandchildren, Anthony Marullo, Tressa Dingus, Rachael Dingus, Matthew, Joshua, Allison, Amanda, Shayna, Seth, Shilo and Sadie Hildebrand; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Martha K. (Sister Frances Joseph), Mary Jo Dooley and J. Pauline Jones.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, John J (Ann), William L (Josephine), Bernard F (Lucy), David C (Jean) and Joseph E (Marjorie) Hildebrand; and sister, Dorothy (Sister Frances Aloysius).
