Excerpt -- Our community was shocked Sunday to hear of the death of Mrs. Mary E. Weaver, wife of Jacob Weaver, of near here, which occurred at 10 o'clock, of heart trouble. The deceased was 68 years of age and in sound health up to the day of her death. She leaves a husband, one daughter and six sons to mourn their loss. The funeral took place at Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Cobun cemetery near the Campground to await the resurrection morn.
Mary Ellen (Plum) daughter of James Mason Plum and his first wife, Deborah (Snider)married Jacob Doggett Weaver on Dec 18, 1861 in Preston Co., (W)VA. - Jacob and Mary Ellen were the parents of at least ten children: James William, Frances D., Charles C., John Burr., Thomas Patrick, Albert, Bertie, Mary Jane, Henry Harrison and Benjamin Franklin.
