Excerpt -- James W. Weaver, 92, former resident of Preston County, died March 11 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lillian Ketcham of Corning, O. Mr. Weaver, a retired farmer, was born Dec. 11, 1862, a son of Jacob D. and Mary Ellen Plum Weaver. His wife preceded him in death as did one daughter, Mrs. Mertie Goff. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Flora Starner of New Lexington, O., Mrs. Samantha Groves of Clarksburg and Mrs. Lillian Ketcham of Corning; one son, Thomas of New Lexington; one brother, Benjamin of Tunnelton; 22 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Services were conducted March 13 with burial in the Oakfield, O., Baptist Cemetery.
