ELDERS: Mrs. Helen (Worthington), 63, Johnstown RD 1 (Woodvale Heights), died at 10:50 PM September 21, 1964, in Lee Hospital. Born September 1, 1901, in Lorain, Ohio, daughter of Richard Henry and Rachel (Nitsch) Worthington. Survived by husband, Arthur E., and two sons, Richard Jacob, married to former Helen Nazaruk, and Robert, married to former Carolyn Yeager, both of Johnstown RD 1, also three grandchildren: sister, Florence Rose (Mrs. Joseph Francis Mayock) of Scranton, and three brothers--Edward Thomas, Sr., Richard John and William Francis Worthington, all of Johnstown. Member of Sodality of B. V. M. of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Friends received from 7 to 9 PM Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, Wednesday, in George Makuchan Funeral Home. Requiem Mass at 10 AM Thursday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, [by] the Rev. Francis Kelly. Interment, church cemetery. Rosary will be recited in 8 PM Wednesday.
Preceding her in death were sisters Catherine J and Mary Elizabeth "Mame" (Mrs. Francis J. Sullivan)and brothers Peter Michael and James Evan. Also preceding her in death, her half siblings Mary Jane, Irene, and Richard. Mary Ann Howells-Worthington (her Father's first wife) and these children perished in the 1889 Johnstown Flood.
