ELDERS - Richard J., 85, East Taylor Township, passed away June 30, 2006, at Select Specialty Hospital. Born Nov. 11, 1920, in Johnstown, son of the late Arthur and Helen (Worthington) Elders. Preceded in death by brother, Bob. Survived by wife, Helen Nazaruk, whom he married Feb. 7, 1942, children, Robert J., married to the former Eileene (Cigich), Southmont, Mary Anne, married to Joseph Bell, Jr., South Fork and Richard M. Elders, married to the former Melissa (Thomas), Vinco; grandchildren, Kris, Suzette, Tara and Keith Elders and Joe Bell and great-grandchildren, Jacob and Josh Elders. Member of St. John Ukrainian Catholic Church, Woodvale, and Conemaugh/Franklin American Legion and Retired Men's Club. A World War II Army veteran. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Henderson-Makuchan Funeral Home, Conemaugh, where a Parastas service will be held at 7 p.m. A brief prayer service will begin at 9 a.m. Monday (July 3, 2006) at the funeral home, followed by Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. at St. John's Ukrainian Catholic Church (Byzantine Rite), Father Andrew Krasulski officiating. Interment, St. Vladimir Cemetery.
