Conchita Guadalupe “Connie” Pomroy Hubbs
1925 - 2012

"Connie" Guadalupe Hubbs, 86, of Pleasant Grove passed away Monday, October 1, 2012. Connie was born December 8, 1925, in Tampico, Mexico, to Francis Dade Pomroy and Guadalupe Moran Ortiz. She married the love of her life, Ernest R. Hubbs on January 19, 1946 in Aztec, NM. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple.

Connie's early life was spent in Mexico. She attended boarding in school in Texas when she was 13. She moved to Colorado at age 16 to help care for her grandmother. While in Colorado, she joined the LDS Church. Connie graduated from high school in Cortez, CO in 1944. She later moved to Denver to attend the cadet nursing program.

Connie and Ernest raised their four children in various places throughout the west due to his employment as a Core Driller Foreman. They made their retirement home in Pleasant Grove where they have resided for the past 23 years. Connie loved to read, cook and spend time with family. She was a devoted member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in many callings.

She is survived by her four children: Joyce (Glenn) Strube, Lometa, TX; Gerald (Janet) Hubbs, American Falls, ID; Michael (Denise) Hubbs, Goose Creek, South Carolina; and Virginia (Chris) Snow, Pleasant Grove; 14 grandchildren and 21 1/2 great- grandchildren; four siblings: Betty Williams, Jimmy Pomroy, Ruth Albert and Virginia Dial. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest and sister, Juanita.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 5, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Pleasant Grove 12th Ward Chapel, 828 South Locust Avenue, Pleasant Grove. Family and friends may attend a viewing Thursday evening from 6-8 PM at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Friday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
