Michel Lutz, 85 years and nine months old, passed away at the home of his son, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Lutz, south of Ceresco, Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. Mr. Lutz has been in a feeble condition with dropsy for the past two years due to his advanced years. He was born in Wittemburg, Germany, and came to this country when about 2 years of age. In 1859 he was married to Miss Mary Mohrhardt, who passed away 23 years ago. For the past 40 years he has been a resident of Calhoun county. The surviving children are: Fred and Jake of Ceresco; John of Burlington township; Mrs. Dell Earl and Mrs. William Trumble of Battle Creek; and Mrs. N. C. Francisco and Mrs. Conrad smith of Newton township; Lewis having died in infancy, and another son Michael Lutz of Newton township, several years ago. The funeral services will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Lutz Sunday afternoon at 1:30 and at the Lutheran church, south of Ellis Corners at 2:30 o'clock.

The funeral services for Michael Lutz, who passed away at the home of his son, Jacob Lutz south of Ceresco, were held at the Ellis Corners Lutheran church Sunday afternoon at 2:30. The service was largely attended by friends and relatives, Rev. Lewis Spaker, of the English Lutheran church of Battle Creek, officiated. Grandsons, George, Harold, Glenn, and Robert Lutz of Ceresco; Walter Croniger and Clare Trumbull, of Battle Creek were the pall bearers.
