Claire B. Croup, 90, formerly of Franklin and most recently of Carol City, Fla., died Monday, May 7, 2001.

Born Dec. 29, 1910, in Franklin, she was the daughter of Clinton and Bertha Runninger. Mrs. Croup was a graduate of Franklin High School. She was employed by the Prudential Insurance Co. of Oil City. Mrs. Croup was married in Good Hope Lutheran Church, Oil City, Aug. 9, 1943, to Samuel B. Croup, who preceded her in death. They resided on Georgetown Road, Franklin, until moving to Florida in 1955.

Surviving are a son, Samuel Croup of Homestead, Fla.; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She also is survived by a brother, Fred L Runninger of Alma, Mich.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Croup was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Warren; a stepdaughter, Sylvia Rogers; two sisters, Jean Blair and Frances Henry; and two brothers, Kenneth Runninger and Ralph Runninger.

Services were held Thursday, May 10, followed by interment in Dade Memorial Cemetery, Miami, Fla. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
