Coroner Clyde Chamberlain Jr. said Mrs. Huseth and her grandson, Douglas Swenson, 27, who started working at Sprague Dawley, 3134 Seminole Highway, Monday, were en route home from work in the rain when she braked to slow for two cars stopped to turn left onto Erb Rd. Her car skidded off the right shoulder; she apparently grabbed her grandson to protect him, and the car slid back into the side of the semitanker driven by Matt Solchenberger, 48, Blue Mounds, Chamberlain said. Young Swenson, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Swenson, Mt. Horeb, was released Tuesday night after treatment at Madison General Hospital for multiple body contusions and face cuts. Mrs. Huseth's death was the 16th traffic fatality in Dane County and Madison this year compared with 22 on this date in 1976.
Camberlain said the death will probably be ruled accidental but will remain under investigation until today.
