ATKINS, MRS. ELIZABETH (BUCKNER) - age 73 of Luttrell born May 8, 1939 and passed away Thursday September 20, 2012 at Ft. Sanders Medical Center. She cooked for many years at Union Co. Headstart and was a member of Warwick Chapel Baptist Church and was preceded in death by husband, Gerald Atkins; son, Doug Atkins; parents, Hubert and Alice Miller Buckner; daughter in law, Debbie Atkins and 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Survived by sons and daughters in law, Greg and Angie Atkins, Marvin Atkins, Tim and Barbara Atkins; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, with funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m., in Byrds Chapel Rev. Ray Headrick and Rev. Leonard Goin officiating. Singers will be New Friendship Singers and Allison and Alex Padgett, Kadynce Collins. Family and friends will meet at 1:15 p.m. Sunday at Byrds Mortuary to proceed to Sharp Cemetery Bull Run Rd. for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service. Pallbearers Josh Atkins, Brian Atkins, Ricky Jarnigan, Mikey Atkins, Matthew Acuff, Randall Surrett. Honorary Pallbearers Allen Padgett. Byrds Mortuary Maynardville.
