Anton Gerl, 75, of 10880 County Trunk H West, Marshfield, died at 7:51 p.m. Saturday at Marshfield Convalescent Center,- where he was admitted Aug. 12. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Stratford. The Very Rev. Joseph A. Grassl will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Stratford. Miss Florence Kasier will be organist and Miss Lois Wiesman, soloist. Visitations will be at SauterKundinger Funeral Home, Stratford, beginning at 2:30 p.m. today and again Tuesday until time for services. The St. Joseph's Parish Council of Catholic Women will have its rosary service at 3 p.m. today and the parish vigil will be at 8 tonight, both at the funeral home. Mr. Gerl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph (Clara Kordick) Gerl, was born Nov. 30, 1907 in the Town of Marshfield. He received his education at St. Joseph's Parochial School in Hewitt. He and Helen Cisco were married Oct. 14, 1930 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Stratford. After marriage they farmed in the Stratford area until 1940, when they moved to Marshfield. He was employed by L. Shapiro & Sons here until retiring in 1972. Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Marcella "Sally" Weis, Marshfield; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four brothers, Roman and Frank Gerl, both of Rockford, Ill., Peter Gerl of Anchorage, Alaska and Bert Gerl, Marshfield; and two sisters, Mrs. Celia Hinkfoth and Mrs. Joseph (Anna) Nikolai, both of Marshfield. He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters, two brothers two sons and two grandchildren.
