Betty Louise Watkins, 86, of Elizabeth, went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 14, 2012.
Betty was a member of Big Island Run Church. She was a wonderful and much loved mother, grandmother, neighbor and friend.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Ernest Watkins; daughter, Jo Ann Javins; great-grandaughter, Vanessa Cooper; brother, Lawson Bain; four sisters, Virginia Wehrkamp, Deloris Patterson, Blanche Freeland and Juanita Howard; and two half sisters, Adelia Learned and Gladys Cutler.
She is survived by two sons, Gary Watkins and Jeff and wife, Katie Watkins, all of Elizabeth; two daughters, Marsha and husband, Ray Roberts, and Jan and husband, David Deem, all of Elizabeth; two sisters, Glenola Eddy of Newark and Norma Jean and husband, Bill Vardaman, of Florida; seven granddaughters, Bridgett and husband, Doug Nelson, Ronni and husband, Chris Edmands, Erica and husband, Greg Oxley, Stephanie Javins, Amber and husband, Bobby Sparks, Stephanie and husband, J.D. Cooper and Stormi Watkins; 13 great-grandchildren, Kimberly Oxley, Kaleigh Oxley, Hunter Jackson, Tommy Bennett, Parker Nelson, Autumn Nelson, Kayte Edmands, Andrew Edmands, Victoria Cooper, Jordan Cooper, Gabriel Cooper, Zavier Cooper and Zoe Cooper.
A tribute to the life of Betty Louise Watkins will be noon Tuesday at Busch Kimes Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tim Bell and Pastor Bob Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Watkins Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and two hours prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
