Simeon's obituary was founded the Virginian Pilot on April 14, 1946 as follows:
"Simeon Lawrence Forbes, 75, died last night at 10:30 o'clock at his residence, 1221 Hull Street, South Norfolk, after brief illness.
The native of Camden County, North Carolina, he was a son of the late Mr. And Mrs. Simeon Forbes and husband of Mrs. Bessie Norsworthy Forbes.
In addition to his wife, he survived by five daughters, Mrs. G. C. Bryant, of Norview, Mrs. Morgan Digges, of Mathews County, Mrs. T. C. Osmund and Mrs. O. M. Osmund, both of Dozier's Corner, Norfolk County, and Miss Marjorie Forbes, of South Norfolk; two sons, Simeon and H. R. Forbes, both of South Norfolk; one brother, Leander Forbes, of Newport News, and 14 grandchildren.
The body was removed to the Grant Funeral Home, Jackson and Jefferson Streets, South Norfolk. Funeral arrangements are pending."
