She retired in 1989 from the Vanderburgh County Development and Training Center.
Mrs. Kockritz was a member of Bennett Memorial United Methodist Church for over 50 years, where she served as chairman of the Mary Martha Circle, was former trustee of the church, formerly taught the special-ed Sunday school class, was the former church historian, former children's church coordinator and was very active in all church functions and various civic activities.
Mrs. Kockritz was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Kockritz, in 1980; a son, Daniel Lee Kockritz, in 1962; her parents, Robert and Lula Bridges; 1 sister, Evelyn Feltner; and five brothers, Earl, Ira, Clyde, Robert and Ben Bridges.
Survivors include two sisters, Sara Kimbrough of Henderson and Katie Liles of Greenwood, Ind.; nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lucy B. Kockritz will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2002, at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home in Henderson. The Revs. Bill Pollack and David Latham will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home.
