Mrs. Guidry was owner of Fontenot & Guidry Department Store for 53 years with her husband, Huey Guidry. She was a member of the board of directors of Church Point Bank & Trust Co. for the past 11 years. She was also a member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Daughters of America and a Eucharistic Minister.
Survivors include four sons, Mark Guidry, of Fairfax, Va., Hugh Guidry and wife, Deborah, of Opelousas, La., Jeff Guidry and wife, Beverly, of Gonzales, La., and Mitchell Guidry and wife, Denise, of Sacramento, Calif.; five daughters, Susan Guidry White and husband, Red, of Houston, Texas, Linda Guidry D'Amores and husband, Barry, of Brusly, La., Joan Guidry Winn and husband, Glen, of Church Point, La., Carla Guidry Lyons and husband, Roland, of Omaha, Neb., and Kay Guidry Morgan and husband, Paul, of Broussard, La.; two brothers, Emery and Kenneth Fontenot, of Baton Rouge, La.; 20 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Huey Guidry; her parents, Arduse and Celeste Fontenot; one grandson, Marty D'Amores; and three brothers, Austin, Calvin and Remi Fontenot.
Pallbearers will be Drew, Nick, Seth, Ethan and Blake Guidry and Matthew Lyons.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dalton Guidry and Wyatt Guidry.
Visitation will be observed from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. today and will continue from 8 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. this evening by Bryne Winn and the Rev. Mr. Paul Matte.
