Mrs. Gonzalez died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, at home.

Petra Carrasco Gonzalez was born Jan. 18, 1915, in Barstow, Texas, to Elauterio and Logina Olivas Carrasco. She was raised in Marfa, Texas.
Petra married Rejino Porraz Gonzalez in 1920 in Redford, Texas, and soon after, moved to Loving. She worked the family farm, growing hay and cotton while being a full-time wife and mother.
Petra loved her family and purple flowers and was a member of San Jose Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 30, 1982, and an infant daughter, Anita Gonzalez.
She is survived by sons, Ramon, Rejino Jr. and Robert Gonzalez all of Loving and Rodrigo Gonzalez of Las Vegas, Nev.; daughters, Amelia Methola of Carlsbad, Avelina Campos of Loving, Anita Castaneda of Carlsbad, Armida Villanueva of Odessa, Texas, and Alicia Gonzalez of the family home in Loving; sisters, Cleofas Rodriquez of Carlsbad and Manuela Hernandez of Oregon; a brother, Pablo Carrasco of Redford; and 38 grandchildren, 91 great-grandchildren, 28 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchildren.
