(DADEVILLE) - Mr. Nathan Leverett, 91, of Dadeville died Monday, Feb. 4, 2008 at Dadeville Convalescent in Dadeville.
Funeral services are planned for Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 2 p.m. at Jeff Jones Funeral Home in LaFayette with the Revs. Howard Johnson and Roger Short officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Leverett is survived by his daughter-in-law, Rose Mary Leverett of Dadeville; two grandchildren, Robert "Bob" (Angie) Leverett and Kim ( Rev. Howard) Johnson; three great-grandchildren, Codie Johnson, Victoria Johnson and Luke Johnson; one sister, Dot Allen of LaFayette; and two brothers, Joe (Libba) Leverett of Snellville, Ga., and Curtis (Nell) Leverett of LaFayette.
Born July 22, 1915 in Chambers County, Mr. Leverett was a veteran of World War II. He was a mail carrier and retired after 35 years of service. Mr. Leverett was a 50-year member of Soloman Lodge 74, F&AM, a member of National Rural Letter Carriers and a member and deacon at Antioch Baptist Church for more than 50 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Woody Leverett, and his son, Rev. Robert Leverett.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Alabama Children's Home or to the Dadeville United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Feb. 6 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Jeff Jones Funeral Home in LaFayette.
