CLARK – ALLMAN


Mance Allman and Dorothy Clark of Hamilton township, were married at the clerk's office, Brownstown Saturday at three o'clock by Rev. John Anderson, pastor of the Cortland Methodist church.


They had two children. She later married two more times to Orville Omer Gibson (on April 25, 1924) and Clarnce H. Arbuckle II (on December 19, 1971).


On March 27, 1926, Mance Allman and Prudie Isabelle Furgeson were married, possibly in Jackson County, Indiana.

Mance Allman


Mance Allman, 85, of Jackson Park Convalescent Center, Seymour, and also formerly of Seymour, died at 12:50 a.m. today at Jackson County Schneck Memorial Hospital. He had been ill since November 1987.


He retired from the Golden Foundry, Columbus, in 1972.


Mr. Allman was born on July 3, 1903, in Hamilton Township, to Phillip and Ruth Hendershot Allman. He married Prudie Ferguson on Marcy 27, 1926. She died in 1981.


Surviving six daughters, Eileen Williams, Seymour; Waneita Cockerham, Medora; Imogene Hammond, Elizabethtown; Phyllis Zaffe and Lois Irving, both of Columbus; Carol Pennington, Cincinnati, Ohio; seven sons, Jesse Allman, Willston, South Carolina; Jack Allman, Edinburgh; Richard Allman, Seattle, Washington; Larry Allman, Columbus; Earl Leon Allman, Scipio; Randy Allman, Columbus; and Russell Allman, Clifford.


Also, a brother, Otho Allman, Seymour; two sisters, Mrs. Joe Soladine, Freetown; and Lois Jones, Columbus; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by a daughter, a son and seven brothers and sisters.


Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home, Brownstown. The Rev. Kay McCory will officiate. Burial will be at Acme Cemetery.


Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to Heart Fund or to the Diabetes Fund.
