Russell Gale Allman, 58, of C'bus was U.S. Army vet
Russell Gale Allman, 58, of Columbus died at 2:45 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27, 2007, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, recipient of the Purple Heart and a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Columbus.
A private memorial service is planned. Arrangements were made by Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home in Columbus.
Born in Jackson County Dec. 2, 1948, Mr. Allman was the son of Mance and Prudie Isabell Ferguson Allman. He married Regina Schooler Allman Aug. 31, 1970. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Aaron Shane Allman of Hope; two grandchildren, Asa and Azriel Allman, both of Hope; five brothers, Jack Allman, Larry Allman and Randy Allman, all of Columbus, Leon Allman of North Vernon and Richard Allman of Seattle; and five sisters, Juanita Cockerham of Brownstown, Imogene Hammond of Elizabethtown, Phyllis Zapfe and Lois Irvin, both of Columbus, and Carol Pennington of Cincinnati.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jesse and Allen Dean Allman; and a sister, Lavina Allman.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana.
