She had been employed as a waitress at Myrtle Hall's restaurant and Gallison's, both in Corinna. Helen also worked on potato harvesters for Charlie Perkins and Roland Buck, and volunteered many years for the Sebasticook Valley Community Center in Newport.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Christine and Lorraine Leavitt, both of Dexter, and Elaine Leavitt of Newport; 2 step-sons and their wives, Robert and Glenice Leavitt of Garland and Richard and Linda Leavitt of Ripley; 9 grandchildren, Benjamin, Matthew, Michael, Brian, Robert, Jr., Stephen, Melissa, Amy, and Christopher; and 7 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Benjamin Leavitt.
