Elaine fought ovarian cancer for 4 years. She had been employed as a certified nurses aide at St. Joseph Hospital in Bangor. She will be remembered as a loving, caring person who always helped others, both inside and outside of work.
She is survived by 2 sisters, Christine and Lorraine Leavitt, both of Dexter; a step-brother, Richard Leavitt of Ripley; nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her mother, Helen Leavitt, on September 2, 2012.
A memorial service will be held 1:30 P.M. Monday, January 28th, at the Chapel of St. Joseph Hospital, 360 Broadway, Bangor, with the Rev. Fr. Roland Nadeau presiding.
Spring interment will be at Exeter Center Cemetery. (Bangor Daily News 1/24/2013))
