Services for Johnnie Franklin Martin, 80, were held at the First Methodist Church officiated by Reverend Larry Crumpton.

Mr. Martin graduated from Westover High School in 1938.

He attended Texas Tech University for two years before serving in the Navy during World War II.

He and Billie Hurst were married July 15, 1945.

They renewed their wedding vows at their 50th wedding anniversary on July 15, 1995. He was a lifelong farmer and rancher.

Mr. Martin was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where he served on the Board of Trustees. He was a member of the Eastern Star, V.F.W., American Legion and was a 50-year member of the Seymour Masonic Lodge. He served as past president of the Seymour Country Club and was named outstanding Farmer-Conservationist in 1999.

He is survived by his wife, Billie Martin of Seymour, Texas; one son; two daughters [names removed for privacy]; one sister, Viola Henderson, Texas; two brothers, Travis Martin and Jerry Martin; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren
