"Born in Hill County, Texas, she was the daughter of William Edward Martin and Lillie Viola Brannan. On July 4, 1943, she married Leland Fry in Seymore. She received her education at McMurry College and North Texas State University. She came to Coleman in 1937 and taught Home Economics at Coleman High School from 1937 to 1966. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the State Association of Home Economics Teachers.
"Survivors are her husband, Leland H. Fry of Coleman; two sisters, Mrs. Vernon (Viola) Henderson of Lubbock and Mrs. Lydia Young of Seymore; five brothers, Earl Martin of Houston, Wesley Martin of Dallas and Johnny Martin, Travis Martin and Jerry Martin, all of Seymore; and several nieces and nephews.
"Interment was in Coleman Cemetery. Pallbearers were Oscar Gould, Ben Taylor, Oink Taylor, E. W. Scott, Thelbert Elkins, and Don Starnes. Honorary pallbearers were Downtown Sunday School Class· members.
"The family requests memorials be made to the Senior Center and the Downtown Men's Sunday School Class."
