WILLIAM TALIAFERRO BRONAUGH was born in Christian County, Kentucky in September 1815 shortly after his parents, TALIAFERRO & JENNIE (GILMOUR) BRONAUGH moved there from Lincoln County, Kentucky. He grew up in Christian County, Kentucky and assisted his father with the family tobacco plantation there.

WILLIAM TALIAFERRO BRONAUGH was married to his cousin ELIZABETH JANE "JENNIE" BRONAUGH on 9 November 1839 and they became the parents of one son, THOMAS NEWTON BRONAUGH who died in 1849 in Christian County, Kentucky.

WILLIAM TALIAFERRO BRONAUGH's wife "JENNIE" died on 9 June 1845 in Hopkinsville, Christian County, Kentucky and he died there on 8 August 1855.
