Burt P. Fleming
Burt P. Fleming, 57, of 220 Everett St., Grand River, a special deputy with the Lake County Sheriff's Dept. for many years, died of a heart attack Wednesday night at his home. Born April 12, 1899, in Painesville, he had resided in this area all his life. He made his home at Grand River seven years. Mr. Fleming was a foreman in Department L — the chlorine department — of the Diamond Alkali Co. He had been employed at the Diamond and in the same department since April 1929. His position at the time of death was shipping valve tester foreman. He was made a foreman in 1944. Mr. Fleming was active in the Lake County Fraternal Order of Police, the Moose Lodge, Painesville Grange and Diamond Foremen's Club.

Surviving are his wife, the former Marie Noyce, whom he married Jan. 17, 1915;[sic] two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Arsulic and Mrs. Paul Lombardo of Painesville; two sons, Raymond of Painesville and Harold of Mentor Headlands, and nine grandchildren. He also leaves two brothers, Edward of Painesville and Corbett of Concord and three sisters, Mrs. Lodar Tombs of Ashtabula, Mrs. Ethel Gebeau of Fairport and Mrs. Arvo Pernoja of Painesville. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Spear Funeral Home. Rev. J. Franklin Baxter, a minister of the Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call beginning at 7 tonight.

Services for Burt P. Fleming, 57, of 220 Everett St., Grand River, were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Spear Funeral Home. Rev. J. Franklin Baxter, a minister of the Church of Christ, officiated. Mr. Fleming died of a heart attack Wednesday night at his home. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joseph Ungers, George Pollock, Michael Pollock, John Hreha, Andrew Maga and Thomas Green. On Friday night the Loyal Order of Moose conducted services at the funeral home.
