JOSEPH J KLEIN, 78, a retired butcher, died late Friday morning at his home, 109 Custer St., Brillion, after a lengthy illness.

Native of Sheboygan County, he was born Jan. 24, 1876, and was married to Miss Anna Faber of Kiel on April 30, 1904. The couple settled in Kiel after their marriage.
Mr. Klein operated butcher shops at Kiel and then at New Holstein until 1927, when he moved to Brillion. He retired from business in 1952.

Survivors are his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Fred Bloedorn, Brillion and Mrs. Dan Coakley, Milwaukee; four grandchildren; one great grandchild, and two sisters, Mrs. Edward Miller, Kiel, and Mrs. Mary Zimmermann, Elkhart Lake.

Funeral services will be held at the Luecker Funeral Home, Brillion with the Rev. Ralph Kluge, pastor of the Frieden Evangelical and Reformed Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Community Cemetery at Brillion
