JOHN KLEIN

Last Sunday evening at 8 PM, Mr. John Klein, well liked in the area, died in his home in the town of Rhine. Not too long ago he contracted "nervous fever" (Typhoid) by which the symptoms of excessive thirst overtook him and his death was hastened.
John Klein was born on October 7th 1849 in Nierstein, Germany and came to the America in 1855 with his parents settling in the town of Rhine. On February 17, 1874 he married Miss Louise Mueller who grievingly survives as his widow. The marriage produced 7 children 4 sons and 3 daughters of which one daughter is married (Mrs. Mary Zimmermann).
The farm which he worked on until he died, was given to him shortly before his marriage by his parents, who remained there to live.
He leaves behind his widow and 7 children, his elderly parents, 4 siblings Joseph H. Klein from here, Heinrich Klein from town Meeme, Mrs. Katharina Lupfer from Sheboygan and Mrs. Justina Leonard from Rockville, as well as 2 grandchildren (the children of Mrs. Mary Zimmermann)
The burial took place on Tuesday morning at 9 am from the "Mourning chapel" after the body was in state at the Holy Catholic Church Of St. Peter and St. Paul, as he was a member of that parish. Rev. Schmitz officiated the blessing and he was buried in the Parish cemetery.
He died in such high standings in his community, being very popular and loved by those who knew him that there were 170 people in the Procession which bears witness to his high standing. Condolences to the grieving, who are left behind.
