Rayford Woodrow Anderson entered into rest with his Heavenly Father that he knew through the Son, his Lord, Jesus Christ, on August 27, 2012. He served his country in World War II in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater, where he received the Large Oak Leaf Cluster Bronze and Purple Heart, Large Oak Leaf Cluster Bronze and Bronze Star Medal, Presidential Unit Citation for Hill 700, and Phillippine Liberation Ribbon and Bronze Star Attachment. He was a resident of Clayton County, Georgia for 48 years and also a member of Senoia Vineyard Community Church.

Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Susie Jeanette Johns; his parents, Arlie and Ora Anderson; siblings, Ernest, Foster, Ford, Arlie Jr., Allie Ruth Anderson, Eva Reddick, Bebe Webb and Vela Mae Olliff. He is survived by siblings, Ledford, Brantley, Edward, Kenneth Anderson and Lynnah Bumgardner. Mr. Anderson is survived by four children, Brenda and Jack Rutledge, Gary and Carol Anderson, Susan and David Leatherwood, and Randy and Wendy Anderson. Mr. Anderson also has 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service held on August 30 in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Burial and graveside service at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville.
