Mrs. Flora Paxton
services conducted:
Services for Mrs. Flora D. Paxton were conducted today at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Mort officiating.
Entombment was in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Mrs. Paxton died at 5:40 a.m. Sunday at the Parkview Convalescence Center.
A life-long resident of Paducah, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Barbara Dicke. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, a charter member of the Paducah Womens Club, and an honorary member of the Paducah Garden Club.
She was the wife of the late W. P. Paxton, former president of Southern Textiles Machinery, chairman of the board of directors of Citizens Bank and Trust Co., chairman of the board of Claussner Hoisery Co., and chairman of the board of Paducah Newspapers, Inc.
Survivors include, one son, T. A. Paxton of Paducah; one daughter, Mrs. J. R. Smith of Paducah, six grandchildren, W. F. Paxton III of Paducah, Mrs. Barbaranelle Shelton of Paducah, W. P. Paxton II of Paducah, T.A. Paxton of Savannah, Ga., James Paxton Smith of New York, and William Paxton Smith of Del Ray Beach, Fla.
Honorary pallbearers were Edwin, Frank and Fred Paxton, Joe, Elliot and William Mitchell, Henry Puryear and Herbert Schultzman.
