Zuda Mae was born and raised in Aledo, Texas; married John Campbell and raised four children while residing in Mineral Wells, Austin, and Irving, TX. Everywhere she lived, she contributed to the communities by adding her smile and laughter, help to anyone in need, and inspiration to all who knew her. Never seeing problems she couldn't overcome, she led her family by giving them encouragement at every turn. She moved to Waxahachie, TX in 1997 to be near her daughter. She spent her life as a homemaker and serving her Lord every chance she had through her church, WMU, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, numerous mission trips, Eastern Star, Baylor Auxiliary, Women's Republican Club, as well as the communities in which she lived. Zuda, known by her grandchildren as "DeeDee" treasured the time she spent with them; she loved playing with them, sharing Jesus with them and watching each one come to know the Lord. Tireless in her efforts; she served in any way she could until the Lord took her home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Hurd.
Survivors include her sons, Ben Campbell and wife, Phyllis, of Austin, Johnny Campbell and wife, Kim, of South Lake, and Tom Campbell, of Granbury; daughter, Becki Gilliam and husband, Jon, of Midlothian; six grandsons; six great grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; brother, Bill Bennett and wife, Carlene, of Mineral Wells; and many nieces and nephews.
