MARION - Leonard ''Bud'' Lane, 85, died Thursday, May 8, 2003, at home.
He was born in Smithfield, NC, son of the late James Harvey Lane and Addie Wilkerson Lane. He was a Baptist and a logger, having worked for Canal Woods for 50 years.
Survivors include his wife, Pearleen W. Lane; sons, Donald Lane of Johnsonville, Robert ''Carrol'' Lane and James ''Carlton'' Lane, both of Marion, and Loyd ''Gene'' Lane of Darlington; sisters, Carrie Johnson of Mullins and Elvie Prevatte of Marion; 24 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by Vernon Harvey Lane, Barry Lane, Willie ''Bill'' Lane and Mamie Capps.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home in Marion. Entombment will be in Palmetto Memorial Mausoleum.
