She was also the recipient of many honors, including her induction into Senior Order, one of Furman's highest student awards given for outstanding leadership and character. At Furman, Eugenia met Jefferson Boone Aiken, Jr., of Florence. They were married on November 30, 1940, and made their home in Florence.

Together they were active in the Florence community and were faithful members of First Baptist Church.
