Mrs. Emilie Rusch whose sudden death was announced in last week's issue of Reporter was buried Sunday from her late home and from the Ev. Zion Church to the Ev. Cemetery, south east of this village.
The funeral cortege being one of the largest ever seem here, more than one hundred autos following the remains to their final resting place attesting to the high esteem of her sorrowing friends and relatives for hers was a life well spent, a loving mother and kind and generous neighbor. None who entered her home ever left without a kindly welcome and a feeling of good will and generosity; for to make others happy was one of the aims of her life and with one accord the heartfelt sorrow of all is felt that henceforth earthly scenes have vanished for their esteemed relative and friend whose death brought sorrow to all who knew her best.
Mrs. Rusch was born in Rockland fifty-four years ago. Her husband, Herman Rusch died thirteen years ago and after his death she removed to Reedsville, accompanied by her sons, August, Walter and Otto, where she erected a home. Five children, William, August, Bertha, (Mrs. F. Schmidt), Walter and Otto, two brothers, Albert and Wm. Moede and two sisters, Mrs. Schubring of Forest Junction and Mrs. Schley of Marshfield survive.
The ground upon which the present Ev. Zion Church is built and one of its beautiful stained glass art windows is an evidence of her generosity and kindness both being donations from the deceased lady.
