Mrs. Nellie Beatrice Claussen, 69, 1157 Webster, died Friday at a Topeka hospital. She had cancer.
She was born in Axtell, Kan., July 3, 1909.
Mrs. Claussen was graduated from the Jane C. Stormont School of Nursing in 1933, and practiced nursing in Topeka many years. She attended Brookwood Covenant Church.
She was married to Homer A. Claussen. He died in 1962.
Survivors include a stepson, Arthur Claussen, 330 Yorkshire Road; a brother, John Backman, Sprague River, Ore.; four sisters, Mrs. Martha Kirk of the home, Mrs. Doris Iverson, 1181 Webster, Mrs. Thora Karlan, 1903 Oakley, and Mrs. Ruby Trieschman, Lawndale, Calif.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice, Inc., in care of Stormont Nurses Alumni Fund, 1248 Buchanan, Topeka, 66604.
