Enlisted age 35 Manufacturer resided Southbridge, Massachusetts, on July 11, 1862, and was mustered in as 2nd Lieutenant with Co. C, 34th Massachusetts Infantry.
Captured May 15,1864 at New Market, Virginia
Died October 1, 1864, of Yellow Fever at a Confederate Prison at Charleston, South Carolina.

Son of Ebenezer D. and Rebekah (Fisher) Ammidown, born in Southbridge, Mass. He married Mary Louise Lamb on January 13, 1858. Malcolm fought in the Civil War belonging to the 34th Mass. Regiment CO H. He was taken prisoner at the Battle of Newmarket in May 1864 and died of yellow fever in Oct. 1864 in Charleston, South Carolina.

There is a stone memorial for him at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Southbridge, Massachusetts.
