Dwayne Hugh Booze, 86, passed away March 10, 2012.

Dwayne was born March 8, 1926, in Lodi Township, Spink County, S.D., to James Earl and Olive Harriet (Emory) Booze.

He joined the Army Air Corps on May 28, 1945, at Fort Snelling Base, Minn. During World War II, he was stationed in Greenland and Alaska. He was discharged in 1948 at Fort Snelling, Minn.

He married Velma Rose Gehring on July 14, 1952, in Howard, S.D. They moved to Portland, where he worked as an accountant. He then moved to Hood River, and then Madras, where he retired.

Dwayne was an outdoorsman who loved to garden, hunt and fish. He was a member of the Elks and enjoyed playing his guitar and singing at the Madras and Prineville senior centers.

He was cremated and services were held at Mount Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery in Madras.

He is survived by his three children and two grandchildren, Douglas (Patricia) Booze of Seattle, Wash.; Mark Booze of Silverdale, Wash.; Diane Sisk of Madras; Sheena Sisk of Los Angeles, Calif.; and Kyle Sisk of Portland; one brother, Harold (Joan) Booze of Redfield, S.D.; and six sisters, Jean West of Lakewood, Calif., Evelyn Grayson and Grace Pengilly, both of Fresno, Calif., Carol (Jerry) Jessen of Norfolk, Neb., Patricia (Jack) Weiss of Hot Springs, S.D., and Shirley (Ken) Gilbert of Redfield, S.D.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Booze, on Aug. 30, 2003; his father, James E. Booze, on April 23, 1978; his mother, Olive Harriet Booze, on Jan. 10, 1970; three brothers, Raymond Earl Booze on Aug. 19, 1948, Wesley James Booze on Oct. 9, 2009, and Bobbie Lee Booze on March 20, 2011; and one sister, Kathryn Mae Paradee, on Nov. 4, 2003.
