Hilda M. Shaunessy
Mrs. Shaunessy, 78, of 1008 21st Ave. died at 7 a.m. Monday, Dec. 14, 1981, in North Penn Hospital, Lansdale, after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Shaunessy had been employed as a seamstress for the Mercy Hospital.
She was born Aug. 17,1903, in Altoona, the daughter of David and Zella (Wicker) Carland, and Oct. 14, 1920, in Cumberland, Md., married James M. Shaunessy, who died Jan. 1, 1951.
Surviving are eight children: Sister Hilda Marie of the Sisters of Charity, Greensburg; James M. of Exton, Walter P. of Houston, Texas; Catherine M. of Falls Church, Va.; Mrs. Alverta Allison of Hatfield, Mrs. Barbara McCorkle of Brandywine, Md.; John J. of Glouster, Mass., and Mrs. Frances Lease of Baltimore, Md.; 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers and sisters: Mrs. Ruth Brasoli of Reynoldsville, Mrs. Elsie Johnson of Altoona, Roy of Baltimore, Md., and Fred of Spangler.
Mrs. Shaunessy was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home.
SHAUMESSY - The funeral of Hilda M. Shaunessy of 1008 21st Ave. will be held with a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Therese Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home, 1204 17th St., where a wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday.
