Services for Mr. Gary "Bear" McQueen will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 17, 2012 at Alpine Baptist Church with Reverend Richard DeBusk, Reverend Sammy Morrow and Reverend Charles Hutzler officiating. Burial will be in Tioga Cemetery, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria.

The family requests that visitation be observed Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Alpine Baptist Church, Tioga from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will continue on Friday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

Mr. McQueen, 59, of Pollock passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini.

He coached Red River Football, Dixie Boys Baseball and participated in Hurricane Disaster Relief. Mr. McQueen retired from the U. S. Forestry Service after 30 years working as a Surveyor and was over the roads and bridges. He was a member of Goldwing Road Riders Association and was a charter member of the Deer Paradise Hunters Club.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby McQueen.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Lucille Strickland McQueen; sister, Karen Juneau and husband, Bubba.
